THE DAY I LEARNED TO CHEER FOR MYSELF

Image
The Day I Learned to Cheer for Myself No one tells you this growing up, but there comes a point in life when the applause gets quiet. Not because you’re failing. Not because you’re doing poorly. But because adulthood assumes you’ve “got it handled.” That realization hit me on a random Tuesday evening. I had done everything right, met deadlines, showed up, kept promises, stayed strong. Yet as I sat on my bed scrolling through my phone, I felt strangely empty. No congratulations. No “you did well today.” No reminder that I was trying, and trying hard. And that’s when it dawned on me: I was waiting for encouragement that only I could give. Depending on External Applause Is Risky For a long time, my motivation was fueled by validation. Praise from clients. Approval from loved ones. Recognition for being “the strong one.” When it came, I felt unstoppable. When it didn’t, I felt invisible. That’s the danger of outsourcing encouragement, you lose momentum the moment the world gets busy....

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD (THIS NOT AN INSULT)

Image
Someone once told me, “Relax, it’s all in your head.” And for a long time, I thought that meant I was being dramatic. Turns out? They were right, and also very wrong. Because yes, it is all in your head… but your head is running the whole show. The Mind: The Loudest Room You’ve Ever Been In Your mind is like that one friend who never whispers. It overthinks. It replays conversations from 2017. It predicts worst-case scenarios like it’s getting paid for it. You wake up motivated. Your mind says, “But what if you fail?” You have an idea. Your mind says, “Someone else has done it better.” You’re doing fine. Your mind says, “Are you though?” And suddenly, nothing is wrong,  but everything feels wrong. The Invisible Battle Everyone Is Fighting Here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: Most struggles don’t start in real life. They start in thought. The fear of starting. The fear of being seen. The fear of not being enough, even when you’re doing your best. We don’t quit because ...

WHEN "JUST MARKETING" SILENCES A CREATIVE MIND

Image
There’s a moment every creative remembers the exact second their mind goes quiet. For me, it wasn’t a lack of talent. It wasn’t laziness. It wasn’t even burnout in the dramatic sense. It was being hired as a Digital Marketing Manager… and reporting on the ground as everything else. The Interview Promise vs. The Reality on the Ground On paper, the role was clear: Digital Marketing Manager. Strategy. Growth. Brand visibility. Creative leadership. On the ground? My job description quietly shape-shifted. I was expected to: • Fill in invoices • Handle walk-in clients • Respond to WhatsApp messages on two different phones • Create content • Post the content • Track trends • Build content calendars • Come up with new ideas—daily • And still “think creatively” Somewhere in between replying “Hello, how can we help you?” and reconciling figures, my creativity packed its bags and left. How My Creative Mind Hit a Wall Creativity needs space. Strategy needs focus...

WHAT IN THE CORPORATE WORLD!!

Image
Ah, the corporate world. That mystical land where coffee flows like water, emails breed faster than rabbits, and your calendar becomes a horror story you never asked for. Welcome, my friends, to the place where only the bold survive, the witty thrive, and the weak… well, let’s just say the weak are usually the ones Googling “how to quit gracefully” at 3 a.m. on a Wednesday. Let’s be real: corporate life isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s a jungle. A jungle with PowerPoint slides instead of vines and TPS reports instead of trees. You will encounter emails that look innocent but are actually passive-aggressive landmines. You’ll meet “team players” whose real talent is taking credit for your brilliance. And don’t even get me started on meetings  the place where time goes to die, and everyone practices their poker face while secretly wishing they were anywhere else. But here’s the thing: surviving this world doesn’t mean you need to be a robot. It means learning how to be smart, resilie...

The Writer Who People-Watches Like It’s a Full-Time Job

Image
Let’s be honest  I might have a slight obsession with observing people. Not in a creepy “binoculars and trench coat” kind of way, but in the quiet, “I’m just over here sipping my drink but mentally writing your life story” kind of way. It’s my thing. My secret hobby. My guilty pleasure. My unofficial PhD  in human behavior. See, I’m the person who will go to a café, sit in a corner, open my laptop, and type absolutely nothing for two hours because I’m too busy watching the world unfold. The couple having what looks like their first date (she’s laughing too hard, he’s checking his reflection on his spoon), the group of friends where one clearly didn’t want to come, the guy pretending to be on a business call but really scrolling through memes. I see them all. And honestly? It’s fascinating. There’s something so addictive about watching people be   when they think no one’s paying attention. You start noticing the tiniest details: the way someone’s smile fades the moment...

What I’ve Learned So Far as a Digital Marketing Expert — The Real, The Raw, and The Rewarding

Image
If there’s one thing digital marketing has taught me, it’s that it’s not for the faint-hearted. It’s a field that demands creativity, patience, strategy, adaptability  and a sprinkle of madness. Every campaign, every client, every late-night content calendar has been a lesson. Some beautiful, some frustrating, but all worth it. Working with different brands and personalities has opened my eyes to the real pulse of online marketing  what works, what doesn’t, and what can quietly destroy your brand if you’re not careful. Let’s get into it. 1. Consistency Beats Perfection — Every Single Time I’ve seen this far too often: a client posts something, it gets over 100 views, then suddenly decides they “don’t like the caption” or “want to fix one small thing,” so they delete it and repost. Again. And again. What they don’t realize is  every deletion kills your reach. Every time you hit delete, you’re telling the algorithm, “Hey, I’m not serious.” You’re resetting mo...

FEMINISM IS NOT REBELLION, IT IS THE REASON WE BREATHE FREELY

Image
In today’s fast-moving, loud, and often misinformed world, feminism has become one of the most misunderstood concepts of our time. What was once a movement of courage, sacrifice, and transformation is now, to some, reduced to nothing more than a rebellious attitude or a trendy label. The painful irony? Many who mock feminism today are unknowingly living the life it fought to give them. Let’s set the record straight: feminism is not a war against men , and it’s not a badge of superiority. It’s not screaming for attention, canceling every man in sight, or turning rage into a personality. Feminism is, and always has been, the pursuit of equality . And without it, most of us wouldn’t have the freedom we take for granted today. Before You Judge Feminism, Know What It Gave You Let’s look back, really look back. Women couldn’t vote. That’s not ancient history. In the U.S., it was only in 1920 that women gained the right to vote, and many women of color had to wait much longer. In countrie...
